Elphy grew up in a musical family. As a guitar-player and singer, her father owned an extensive collection of records that Elphy started to explore at an early age.  When she was only 9, she began to sing along with them and in school, her talent for singing did not go unnoticed and she was asked to sing in the local choir. Not much later, when she was 14, Elphy participated in the VTM Soundmix Show, imitating Helen Shapiro with the song “Queen for Tonight” and the success of this performance took her straight into the semi-finals. Shortly afterwards she joined the girl’s band Secret Fantasy, with Linda Mertens of Milk Inc. while at the same time doing small concerts with the boy next door, Stef Caers.

Several succesful performances in TV singing contests followed:
- Ontdek De Ster Show – 1996: live show
- Popstars – 2001: Finals (last 4 girls)
- Idool - 2003: Semi-finals with her own interpretation of  “What’s Up” - 4 Non Blondes

Thanks to these successful TV performances, Elphy came into contact with several well-known composers and producers, such as Miguel Wiels, Peter Gilis, Daniël Moerenhout and Peter Luts. She cooperated on new songs and did much studio work. Through these collaborations, she was able to add the following well-known dance singles to her discography:
- The Music – Fiocco (1999, Antler-Subway, EMI Music Belgium)
- No Way Out – Astroline (1999, Antler-Subway)
- Virtual Love -  Requiem feat. Chiara Gio (2002, Antler-Subway)

With her stage performances Elphy developed a strong reputation, and throughout the years performed many live concerts with different musicians and bands, including Jan Parent (former keyboard player of Willy Sommers), Tim Vandermeulen (keyboard player of Alana Dante & The Scabs) and the Partyband.

In addition to these performances as a lead singer, she was also active as a backing vocal for some well-known Belgian and international artists; Sonny O’Brien, Natalia, Belle Perez, Los Carios and George Baker to name but a few.

Elphy has performed many different styles of music and is known to be an all-round-singer with a strong, warm voice. However, she has always had a strong preference for soul & disco music so it will come as no surprise that it’s in this style of music that she made her real debut as a solo artist, with the single “Don’t Give Up” in 2013.
